What youre planning is fine, and if you truly keep the battery at under 20% there should be no possibility of any explosion or fire, but remember what I said above, by keeping the battery in use, your risking it(these are very likely):Įxpanding more and destroying your trackpad by bending (If you cant close the lid, you can cut off the connector coming off the battery, by the wires, because the battery will be replaced any way, so it does not matter(if you dont discharge it, then u need to use scissors with plastic handles, to avoid getting shocked(wont be any super bad shock thought)) Place the connector aside, and make sure that it wont touch the socket it was in. The plug is right there, peel the sticker off, and theres not any tools you need, just lift the battery connector off, (watch out that you dont reck the socket, only take off the connector). This way you can use it and totally be safe. This way there will be no issue.ĭisconnect the battery from the motherboard, and keep using the macbook BUT it will work only when plugged in, performance will also be limited(depending on model) but this shouldnt be too bad. And if youre gonna bring it on a plane, id definetly discharge to 0%. It can still leak fluids, but that simply wont happen unless you scratch or physically damage any of the cells.

(I do this by playing multiple youtube videos at the same time). Using it for 1 month like this, 90% chance there will be no fire no explosion, but theres a big chance that it may damage your motherboard or trackpad. You can keep using the macbook the way it is (It is definetly not acceptable to bring it on a plane if you do this), but youll risk (chance of fire/explosion), but most likely it will damage the motherboard or trackpad.
